Welcome To My Home Page Glad you could drop in and say hello... The first time I ever heard "Savatage" was in 1990. I was at my friends house and she had recorded the video "Hall Of The Mountain King". At first, it wasn't the music but the story line in the video and the little troll that caught my attention. From there it just grew. Then, awhile later a friend had "Gutter Ballet" and i thought it was the best album I had ever heard...Finally i bought "Streets" and at that point I was hooked on "Savatage"..I recently had the honor of meeting "Savatage" at the "Canyon Club" in Dallas on May 11th 2001...They were really great and seemed more excited to meet us after the show then we were to meet them...Well, anyways, I hope you enjoy this site and let me know of ways to possibly improve it... News May 19, 2002 - 2002 Summer European Tourdates are now confirmed. They are: 07/26/02 Spain - Rock Machina 07/27/02 Oporto, Portugal 07/29/02 Frankfurt, Germany - Colassaal 07/31/02 Munich, Germany - Backstage 08/01/02 Bochum, Germany - Wacken 08/02/02 Bochum, Germany - Wacken 08/03/02 Prattlien, Switzerland -Z7 Festival 08/05/02 Budapest, Hungry - Sziget 08/06/02 Belgrade There is a possibility that a few American warm-up shows might take place prior to this tour, but nothing is confirmed. May 1, 2001- An update from Chris Caffery confirms that Royal Hunt's frontman John West has just about completed his EARTHMAKER side project. The basics are done... Mike Chlasciak has completed his guitars and Chris is about 50% done. Artension's Kevin Chown (Bass), Vitalij Kuprij (keyboards), Andre Anderson (Keyboards-Royal Hunt), and Lonnie Park (Keyboards) will also be appearing on the CD. It should be in stores during the summer. Royal Hunt frontman John West will begin work on his EARTHMAKER side project in late summer. The band line-up will include Chris Caffery (SAVATAGE) and HALFORD's backing band, Bobby Jarzombek (drums), Ray Riendeau (bass) and Mike Chlasciak (guitars)... . Savatage Guitarist Al Pitrelli will be hitting the road with ex-SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach and his touring group (which includes former ANTHRAX axeman Paul Crook), for several live dates beginning with a two-night stint at Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey on May 10-11. The confirmed dates are as follows: May 10 - Asbury Park, NJ @ The Stone Pony May 11 - Asbury Park, NJ @ The Stone Pony May 16 – Wantagh, NY @ Mulcahy's May 17 – Hartford, CT @ Webster Hall May 18 - Clifton Park, NY @ Northern Lights May 22 - New York, NY @ Irving Plaza April 22, 2002 - SAVATAGE Silver Edition Re-issues. On April 23rd, Metal Blade Records will be issuing special Silver Editions of SAVATAGE's legendary recordings, "Dungeons Are Calling" and "Sirens". SAVATAGE continues to be a force continuing to release new albums and tours some twenty years into their careers. It can be found at www.violenceandpoetry.com This is not a fan page, but an outlet for Damond to post more personal stuff. 2002 Summer Tourdates are starting to pop up. These will be posted here when they all are confirmed. Savatage has recently started the writing process for their next album. It will be a busy end to 2002 for the band. Besides the summer dates and writing the new album, a new TSO CD is in the works. Several members are also continuing work on a few side projects. We will keep you posted on all of this when we get new information. April 9, 2002 SAVATAGE AND AL PITRELLI REJOIN FORCES NEW YORK/TAMPA, Fla. - Savatage would like to welcome back world renowned guitarist Al Pitrelli from his time in Megadeth. "Me and the boys have remained friends in the past couple of years, touring together on a lot of the same bills last summer. I was also fortunate enough to work closely with Paul, Jon, and Bob as their musical director on one of the touring companies of Trans-Siberian Orchestra this past season. I can't wait to get back in the studio with the all the boys and make a great Savatage record!" says Al Pitrelli. Founding member Jon Oliva says "For the past 5 years we haven't recorded without Al in either Savatage or Trans-Siberian Orchestra. When we heard Dave Mustaine was calling it quits we felt it was natural that he step up his involvement with us." Bassist Johnny Lee Middleton continues, "We would like to thank Jack Frost for the time he spent with us. He was a wonderful friend and a total gentlemen, as well as a great performer and musician. We hope to work with him in the future. April 3, 2002 Criss Oliva On the occasion of Criss' 39th birthday, a second slide show, "Memories of Christopher Michael Oliva", has been added to the Criss Oliva section of the Official Savatage website. They have also put up the Sleep and Hall Of The Mountain King videos in the Multimedia section of the website. You can download the videos at the Official website in windows media format. Savatage will be playing several European Summer festivals including Wacken in August. Official details coming soon... March 4th 2001- I was checking out "Savatage".com and came across this interesting bit that you may be interested in: April 3rd, "Criss Oliva's birthday", will soon be upon us once again. This year would have marked "Criss' 39th birthday". Because of the "September 11th" attacks, many fans find themselves in a position where they must "Conserve" funds as much as possible, yet would still like to remember "Criss" in some way. With that in mind, this year's rememberance will be a simple one, kept as inexpensive as possible - "Balloons to Heaven". This year we are asking fans for a 10.00 donation which will buy a helium filled balloon with the above Memorial Card attached to it (each fan that donates will also receive a card as a keepsake). Also, if you'd like, you may add a personal "Note" to the back of the card which I will happily add for you. The balloons will be be taken to "Criss'" gravesite on "April 3rd" where a few will be left and the rest released.
